Volunteer
"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was,
how big my house was, or what kind of car I drove. But the world may be a
little better,
because I was important in the life of a child." - Forest Witcraft
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with A Room to Heal! A Room to Heal depends on volunteers to create healing environments in the homes of children affected by serious medical conditions. Volunteering is incredibly rewarding. Our volunteers gain valuable experience, strengthen relationships, build community, and most importantly -- make a difference in the life of a child in our community.
A Room to Heal offers a variety of volunteer opportunities:
- Room Project Volunteer: An opportunity for individuals who would like to assist with room projects by painting, sewing, putting together furnishing, or lending a hand with other tasks. Once approved, volunteers will be signed up for Lotsa Helping Hands our online volunteer community that tracks volunteer opportunities. Once registered, volunteers are able to view a schedule of volunteer needs for one of our current projects, sign up to participate, and be notified when additional needs are posted.
- Committee Volunteer: An opportunity for individuals who would like to take an active role in any one of the following committees: Room Selection, Funding Opportunities, Marketing & Promotion, Finance, Technology, Design Group, Volunteer Management, and Governance. Once approved, volunteers will be put in touch with the appropriate committee chair.
- Office Assistance and Administration: An opportunity for individuals who would like to assist our board and committees with administrative tasks such as mailings or data entry. Once approved, Katie Blaine, the volunteer coordinator, will be in touch with volunteers.
