Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY Playroom
A Room to Heal, Inc. partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York to renovate the children’s playroom at the CNY Ronald McDonald House.
A Room to Heal volunteers spent several weeks renovating the playroom to refresh its design and layout and to create a healing space for the children staying at the Ronald McDonald House. An aquarium theme created a calming, but fun environment. New features were added to help enhance the experience of the children who stay at the House, these include interactive sensory elements, such as a bubble wall and play panels. Play zones were created and the layout changed to allow for greater accessibility. The children in attendance shared their approval through huge smiles, giggles, and lots of playing!
In addition to the playroom update, the teen room was also given a refresh. New paint and a bold mural make the space feel fresh and inviting.
Thank you to volunteers from IUPAT District Council 4, muralist Cindy Rotella, Sherwin Williams, the Street of Dreams Foundation, The Street Family, the Abess family, the staff at RMHC of CNY, and the wonderful volunteers who helped with this project.
