Cora's Room
Cora is 8 years old and was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer after having surgery to remove what was thought to be just a minor bumb on the back of her neck. This extremely rare cancer is almost unheard of in children, which made it difficult to find treatment. Strong Memorial/Golisano in Rochester, NY took on the challenge. They completed another surgery and Cora did very well!
A Room to Heal wanted to make sure that Cora had a room that was comfortable and allowed her to get lots of rest, but was also fun! The team gave Cora’s room a fresh coat of purple paint, the floors were refinised and a fuzzy, soft area rug was added. Teal ombre curtains and twinkle lights cover the windows. Her new furniture has lots of built-in storage. One of the things Cora really wanted was a hanging chair, so the team added a super-cool chair that hangs from her ceiling! They also got her an iPad that she can take with her when she travels to Rochester for appointments. We hope you love your new room, Cora!!
