Lucas's Room

Lucas's Room

Lucas is a sweet, caring ten year old. He has spina bifida that makes getting around his home challenging. As he is getting older, he would benefit from a space that is more functional for him and allows him to be more independent.

Lucas loves trains, vehicles, and the color green so we decorated his room with all of his favorite things! Because he spends time on the floor, a soft carpeting was installed in the room. A ceiling fan was added to help better regulate the temperature. A bed and dresser, that are more functional for him, replaced his old ones. The walls were painted a bright green and a huge FatHead of a train was added to the walls. There is a desk space under his bed where he can play on his computer, sit and read, or build Lego projects.

Thank you to Endwell Rug for donating the carpet and installation for the room, Maggie O’Brien for donating a model train, and Lowes and Kid2Youth USA for their generous discounts. Thank you to our volunteers Tami and David Crane, Mary Walsh, Hady Abdelazim, and Laura and Brian Sehn.
