Ryan's Room
A Room to Heal completed a healing bedroom for 6 year old Ryan. Ryan has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy and severe asthma.
A Room to Heal volunteers replaced the carpeting with wooden floors which are much better for someone with asthma. The hard surface also allows Ryan to move around freely with his walker. A custom Cherry bunk bed was built with therapeutic stairs for Dylan to climb and a slide to exit the top bunk! Volunteers from Janssen Pharmaceuticals (Stacey Snyder, Kim Abdelazim, Mike Nyschot and Laurie Abess) decorated the room on Friday and installed a functional closet for Ryan to utilize and become more independent.
Thanks to Filbin Painting for donating tie and materials, project managers Colleen McMahon and Caroline Federowich, and a very special thanks to George Westby for building the custom bed for Ryan - you made his dream come true!
