Evan's Room
Meet Evan, a sweet 14 year old boy who loves to hunt and fish, hang out with friends, and play with his two dogs. Evan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia a little over two years ago. Evan received a bone marrow transplant in June 2019.
The goal of Evan’s room was to give him a space to support him as he heals and regains his strength; he currently struggles with low energy. The space includes a cozy cabin-like feel, with dimmable ambient lighting options and a Google Home Hub to listen to music and relax. There are several personal touches along with some fun vintage pieces to add character and make the room unique. Evan will not be able to return to school this year; therefore it is important to include a dedicated, one of a kind desk, along with other tools to support his schooling needs.
Thank you to Danielle Fountaine Meissner for managing this amazing room project! Many business/organizations made this room possible and we’d like to give a special thanks to Halstead Lumber, Early Owego Antiques Center, Our Country Hearts, Home Depot, Lowes, BestBuy, and Home Goods for their support of A Room to Heal.
