Maddie's Room

November 2, 2004 - November 10, 2019. Maddie was a no-nonsense, spitfire fighter who battled Ewing sarcoma for six years, never wavering throughout her exhausting fight.
Maddie’s family says “Maddie, if you only realized the impact you had on others – the courage, inspiration, hope and love that you brought people day after day just by living the life that you did on your own terms and in your own way. You were stubborn as hell with a sassy attitude to match. As much as that made us crazy we wouldn’t have had it any other way! We love you so much!”
July 2014:
Maddie is a spunky girl from Binghamton who was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer in December of 2013. Ewing’s Sarcoma is a very rare form of cancer that affects 2 in every 1 million children. Maddie spent June 2014 at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. On June 4 she had surgery to remove the ilium bone in her pelvis; this is where her cancer started. She also completed another round of chemo.
A team from A Room to Heal, led by Linda Snyder, worked hard on Maddie’s bedroom, getting it ready for her return. After a month at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, Maddie came home and is so strong, she was able to climb the stairs to see her new room! We hope this space helps her relax, rest and feel like the special girl that she is.
