Noelle's Room

Noelle is a spunky and adorable 3 year old who has Juvenile Dermatomyositis. This is a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of muscles and skin. Symptoms include joint pain, muscle weakness, and fatigue. Noelle also experiences mood swings and night terrors, side effects of her treatments.
Noelle’s redesigned space addresses both her medical and emotional needs. UV light exposure can cause flare ups so UV blocking film was installed on her windows. This will allow her to keep her shades open, even on sunny days! Noelle receives monthly infusions as part of her treatment, so we wanted to give her a space that was calming and fun, where she can relax, play, make crafts, and rest during her infusions. She got new furniture including a bed that is easy to get in and out of, a place where she can do crafts, a TV, a fun mural, and unique lighting for nighttime.
