Tioga County Room Project

We are so excited to share a recent room project in Tioga County. It was created for a very special child, a sweet boy who is medically fragile, experiences seizures, and has cortical visual impairment (CVI). Our goal was to design a space that would not only provide comfort and rest, but also support his therapies and create more opportunities for family connection at home.
His bedroom was transformed into a calm, organized environment where he can now enjoy his therapy equipment, sensory tent, and sensory floor mat. Volunteers helped add storage and carefully organize his medical supplies, while the new layout opened up plenty of floor space for therapies and play. The dark-colored walls provide contrast that makes it easier for him to see and enjoy his toys.
The project also extended into the family’s living room, where a new couch with built-in storage gives him a cozy place to rest or sit with his family outside of his bedroom. Additional shelving offers the family a special spot to display photos and keepsakes that celebrate the love and strength they share.
This project was all about creating a safe, supportive, and joyful home environment—and we are thrilled to see how it will make a difference for this amazing child and his family.
Thank you to our project lead, Jordan Lubel, all of our amazing volunteers, and to Brushes Over Broome.
